Hyundai High Capacity Forklifts
Types of AC Forklifts
In today's busy material handling market, low maintenance, application efficiency and of course high power are all essential factors. AC technology is really suited for indoor uses, especially with its brushless features. This particular type of forklift is practically maintenance free and lets you concentrate on getting the job done.
Types
There are different types of AC forklifts which can suit and even exceed all your needs. Design for indoor use offers dependable power and low maintenance. Some of the numerous types of high capacity forklifts provided by Hyundai are Tow Tractors/ Tuggers, Electric Counterbalanced Lift Trucks, Walkie Trucks, Very Narrow Aisle Turret Lift Trucks, Narrow Aisle Order Picker Lift Trucks and Electric Narrow Aisle Lift Trucks.
Function
Alternating current or AC technology is more productive and is energy efficient. These kinds are a lot more cost effective and dependable than the conventional direct current or DC technology. AC forklifts were designed to offer high power indoor applications. Usually, a battery of 36 to 80 volts is used to get the torque and power needed. The AC technology enables a longer time period in between recharging. This enables the forklift to be used for a longer time. Furthermore, the AC motors are completely enclosed and this reduces exposure and dust with no motor brushes, meaning less sparking and a lot less maintenance.
Advantages
Eliminating the need for maintenance would surely give you more time to focus on your visits. This could also save you some money. As discussed earlier, AC technology does not have motor brushes which also lowers maintenance and increases productivity. One more bonus is that AC motors have less wearable parts leading to savings on parts and labor. AC motors are overall much quieter compared to DC motors and this helps increase operator awareness on the jobsite.
Manufacturers
These days, there are numerous manufacturers that provide AC power forklifts. Several of the brands available comprise Hyundai, Raymond, Hyster, Mariotti, and Yale.
Sideloaders have become a terrific alternative for many companies needing to perform handling jobs on unusual loads. Sales of these models are small however, taking up 1% to 5% of the international forklift market.
Sideloaders are quite common in the timber, aluminum, steel, glass, aviation and construction industries. In addition, they are used in industries which are making unusual objects including moldings, and windmill arms. Practically any industry which produces oversized long or awkward objects utilizes the side-loaders.
Side-loaders were originally made during the beginning of the nineteen fifties by Henry Le Grande Lull from the Lull Manufacturing Company. These models were designed in response to a request from the US Air Force. The first idea was patented for commercial application but it was not developed until Lull Manufacturing was taken over by the Baker Raulang Company in 1959. It was Baker Raulang who put the design into production. Afterward, the name was changed to Baker Traveloader. During the latter part of the nineteen fifties, the side-loaders were introduced to Europe. The early units were made by Italian manufacturer Fiora and the afterwards B-P Battioni e Pagani who pioneered the machine's utilization within timber yards.
Side-loaders differ a little from forward traveling, counterbalance forklifts in that they have their forks located on the side of the machinery. The operator drives the machine sitting inside a cabin similar to a traditional forklift. The loading, unloading and lifting functions are done by the mast situated at the driver's right-hand side. The cargo is typically transported lying on a wooden or metal deck. This helps to reduce distortion, stress and damage to the cargo. New innovations to the side-loader design have integrated a huge range of lifting accessories being developed.
